Sight Singing

It’s a new way to work on Sight Singing without a teacher or instrumentalist to help you check your accuracy.  Do it yourself! It’s simple -just:

  •       See it– read the melody scored in the booklet
  •       Sing it– listen to the tonic chord and starting note  and sing the melody
  •       Hear it– sing along to check your accuracy

A booklet containing the complete score of the music recorded on the CD and a single CD.  The CD tracks of the  Sight Singing Solution series contain verbal instructions, tonic triad of each melody and starting note plus music exercises that use grand piano sounds.

Most singers who practice sight singing exercises most often use  piano for accompaniment.  This produces a more consistent sound with pitch that is readily identifiable.

Yes, this is based on the requirements of the Royal Conservatory of Music Voice Syllabus, but  highly beneficial for any program of study. Please refer to The Royal Conservatory of Music Voice Syllabus for specific requirements.

The Royal Conservatory of Music is an internationally recognized examination system. If you are using a different exam system,  the exercises in our series will be similar to the requirements in your system and each grade moves progressively through more difficult and complex requirements.  Please click HERE to see what is presented in each grade and to find the most appropriate grade for your level.

If you’ve  never used an examination system for learning, no problem!  You can be very comfortable using the Sight Singing Solution series, knowing you are improving at a gradual, systematic step-by-step progression of technique and ability.

The range of these exercises is from approximately Middle C to upper E flat.  To accommodate lower bass voices, simply sing down one octave.
